YOGA CLASSES Lorna teaches intermediate and advanced style classes in a vinyasa or a flowing style from one pose to another within a six class time frame.The purpose of each six-week series is to integrate the physical form (postures) with the breath. Awkwardness and stiffness is eventually replaced as each sequence evolves and the practice shifts to a deeper level of focus and awareness, to become an enlivened meditation.
The advanced class begins an exploration of individualized movement within the poses creating new space in form, with a heart-felt flow. The class atmosphere is supportive and safe so all can grow emotionally as well as physically and spiritually. Participation and student requests are encouraged... sometimes we groan and sometimes we laugh!
Anyone interested in yoga can certainly be a guest to one class to see if it is a match for you.These classes work well for anyone who has past yoga experience or are moderately to real fit. These are not beginning level or for people who have sustained serious injuries.
Yoga classes are on-going from September to July.
WHERE LORNA STARTED... Lorna’s introduction to yoga was in college followed by numerous classes that had philosophically different approaches to yoga: physical, meditative, spiritual and therapeutic. Her personal practice has spanned more than thirty years. She received her teacher training from Ananda and followed up with an advanced training with Eric Schiffman and several other teachers in India.
INDIVIDUAL OR SPECIAL GROUP SESSIONS Appointments for private sessions for yoga fundamentals, in office environments and related to athletic training are available through the year.
Private sessions are available for Yoga and Rolfing® by appointment only.
